چکیده
In this paper we report on t h e relationship between track update intervals and track accuracy in a Multifunction phased array radar system. Strategies for selecting the update rate are highlighted and the degradation o f performance as update rate reduces is demonstrated. It is shown that using suitable techniques considerable radar resources can be liberated f o r non-tracking tasks.

A New Algorithm for Phased Array Radar Search Function Improvement in Overload Situations
A new algorithm is proposed for phased array radar search function resource allocation. The proposed algorithm adaptively priorities radar search regions and in overload situations, based on available resources, radar characteristics, maximum range and search regions, optimally allocates radar resources in order to maximize probability of detection. The performance of new algorithm is evaluated...
متن کاملMicromotion feature extraction of radar target using tracking pulses with adaptive pulse repetition frequency adjustment
In multifunction phased array radar systems, different activities (e.g., tracking, searching, imaging, feature extraction, recognition, etc.) would need to be performed simultaneously. To relieve the conflict of the radar resource distribution, a micromotion feature extraction method using tracking pulses with adaptive pulse repetition frequencies (PRFs) is proposed in this paper. In this metho...
متن کاملTrack selection in Multifunction Radars: Nash and correlated equilibria
We consider a track selection problem for multitarget tracking in a multifunction radar network from a gametheoretic perspective. The problem is formulated as a noncooperative game. The radars are considered to be players in this game with utilities modeled using a proper tracking accuracy criterion and their strategies are the observed targets whose number is known. Initially, for the problem ...
متن کاملRadar Pulse Interleaving for Multi-target Tracking
In a multifunction radar, the maximum number of targets which can be managed or tracked is an important performance measure. Interleaving algorithms developed to operate radars exploit the dead-times between the transmitted and the received pulses to allocate new tracking tasks that might involve transmitting or receiving pulses, thus increasing the capacity of the system. The problem of interl...

The U.S. government operates seven radar networks providing weather and aircraft surveillance for public weather services, air traffic control, and homeland defense. A next-generation, multifunction-phased-arrayradar (MPAR) concept has been proposed that could provide enhanced weather and aircraft surveillance services with potentially lower life-cycle costs than multiple single-function radar ...
